About Lumen

Why Sarah opened Lumen

A practitioner's hands gently cradling a client's face during a facial treatment at the studio

Sarah Nakamura opened Lumen after years of watching the same pattern: patients asking for one syringe more than they needed, and clinics happy to sell it. Lumen is the practice she wanted to send her own patients to: one injector, a medical history before any treatment, and photographs at every visit, so decisions are made against evidence, not memory.

Every plan here starts at the lowest dose that can work. You come back at two weeks (that appointment is booked before you leave), and only then do we decide whether to add. It means smaller invoices and an extra visit. It also means nobody can tell.

I want my patients to hear ‘you look rested’ from their friends, not ‘what did you have done?’

Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner · 8 years in aesthetic medicine · Allergan & Galderma Master Injector certified

Sarah came to aesthetics from primary care, and it shows in how Lumen runs: a medical history before any treatment, photographs at every visit, and dosing decisions made at the two-week check, not in the chair on day one.
